Imagery and MEI - Music Enhanced Imagery

Guided Imagery is a technique in which a practitioner guides a person in using their imagination to vizualize (or sometimes experience other sensory impressions) for healing, relaxation, and for information from the psyche.

Using the imagination in this way is a powerful, natural way to access wellness It has been shown through a variety of studies to have physiological benefits like lowering blood pressure, decreasing pain, as well as managing stress, anxiety and depression.

Music Enhanced Imagery (MEI) adds the element of music to enrich the imagery experience. MEI was developed by imagery expert, Trish Malone, LMSW, and by musician and author of Communing with Music, Matthew Cantello. The imagery and music in each MEI program is carefully chosen and synthesized to elicit the most powerful, restorative and healing results.

Listeners learn how to relax themselves, promote healing and well-being, uncover insights, and even solve difficult problems. Used consistently over time, MEI becomes a potent trigger, gaining power each time it is used. MEI can be experienced through the help of a practitioner, but also can be practiced using various recordings. See the next page for examples...
